Alumni

Sandhills Patriots organization has been in existence since 2008. Our first class of Varsity players from 2008 graduated high school in 2013. Most of our alumni attend Pinecrest High School. During the 2013 season, the Pinecrest High School football team, also known as The Patriots, broke a school record by winning 11 games: 18 of the 22 Pinecrest Patriot starters participated in the Sandhills Patriots program. Of the 2013 graduating seniors, several Sandhills Patriots alumni will be playing football at the college level for NC State, East Carolina University, Hampton Sidney, and Dean College. Several alumni from the program also assist the Patriots coaching staff.

“Playing Sandhills Patriots was the most fun thing ever. Always have the best coaches like Van Camp, Baggett, Good. They taught me so much about the game and made me get tougher which I believe is what made me a great football play. Also the coaches are father figures that to this day I feel as if I can talk to them about anything.” – Carson Maples – Air Force

Mason Wagner

The Sandhills Patriots are deeply saddened by the passing of former player Mason Wagner. Mason and his family were founding members and instrumental in the growth of our organization. We have dedicated our 2016 season in memory of Mason. We will fly a flag in his honor bearing his retired jersey #36. Each of our players, cheerleaders and coaches will sport a #36 to each game. Mason’s legacy will live on in our hearts and minds as we play our hardest this season! FOR MASON!

A scholarship has been established to honor Mason. To apply, please visit Mason’s page.
